As a Mica Gaskets manufacturer, I share this with you.
Sometimes mica flakes and mica boards are the same. Mica flakes from Guangdong are simply called mica flakes. Generally, mica flakes mean natural mica flakes.
Mica board is a flat material made from mica paper. This paper comes from natural mica slag. Researchers soak it in resin and then hot press it. It has nothing to do with the thickness. The general temperature resistance of mica is 500 to 1,000 degrees.

Natural mica gaskets are high-temperature insulating materials. They can withstand temperatures up to 800℃ for extended periods. They have strong mechanical properties. They also offer heat resistance and good electrical insulation. Plus, they feature high volume resistivity.
The dielectric loss is good. It has benefits like no layering, cracking, or deformation during processing and punching. Asbestos board has strong resistance to tension and pressure. It works in temperatures as high as 1400°C! Use it for insulation, keeping heat, and blocking sound.
It’s ideal for:
-
Boilers
-
Steel plants
-
Chemical plants
-
Aluminum casting
-
Electrical appliances
When a microwave oven heats food like fish and meat, oil and protein splatter. These fragments stick to the mica sheet. Behind the mica is the magnetron, the heating source. Dirt on the chip heats up first as soon as the microwave emits. These spots scorch easily due to their proximity to the “heat source.” Over time, they burn through the mica chip. Without mica flakes, food residue can get into the magnetron through the back cavity. This can damage the magnetron. When you heat food in a microwave, keep the inside clean. Wipe it down often.
Our company also has mica gaskets on sale; feel free to contact us.
