Different work conditions must specific materials and types of sight glasses in the industry. When choosing a sight glass, first think about your working environment. Check if the conditions might limit each other. Specifically, you can refer to the following conditions:
1. Operating temperature:
The glass will weaken if the temperature exceeds its maximum rating. When thinking about operating temperature, consider the effect of pressure. Pressure and temperature often rise together.

2. Working pressure:
If the working pressure is too high, choose thicker glass. Also, know the peak temperature to ensure safety.
3. Corrosiveness of the working liquid:
You need to know if the working liquid is corrosive. Identify which materials are mainly corrosive. Check if the liquid is chemically active at the working temperature and pressure. This will help you avoid picking a sight glass that won’t work properly.

4. Whether the work environment is impact resistant:
Sight glasses can handle high impact forces. If your work area has extreme forces, use impact-resistant sight glasses.
5. Whether someone seals the working environment:
The sealing of the working environment matters. It affects whether you need to leave room for thermal expansion when putting in the sight glass.
