Product Overview
Quartz glass tube is a clear tube designed for liquid level sight glasses and tubular level gauge assemblies. Made from fused quartz (SiO₂ ≥ 99.99%), it offers better thermal stability and chemical resistance than regular borosilicate or soda-lime glass tubes. It also offers superior optical clarity.
Often known as Quartz Sight Glass Tube, Quartz Level Gauge Tube, or Fused Quartz Transparent Tube, this product is widely used in industrial equipment. It provides a reliable visual level signal, which is essential in many processes.
Material & Manufacturing Expertise
We supply industrial sight glass components to OEMs, maintenance contractors, and export distributors. We have long-term experience in quartz processing for level gauge applications.
Manufacturing Process
-
High-purity electrically fused quartz raw material
-
Precision tube forming and straightening
-
CNC cutting to length
-
Fire-polished or fine-ground tube ends
-
Strict dimensional and visual inspection
Engineers design each quartz glass tube for high pressure, a tight seal, and durability, not for decoration.
Key Performance Advantages
High Temperature Capability
-
Continuous working temperature: up to 1,100 °C
-
Short-term exposure: up to 1200 °C
-
Very low thermal expansion: 0.5 × 10⁻⁶ /K
Ideal for steam, hot water, and high-temperature chemical processes.
Chemical Resistance
-
Excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, and solvents.
-
Not suitable for hydrofluoric acid (HF).
-
No surface reaction or clouding occurred during long-term exposure.
Optical Clarity
-
Visible light transmittance: >90%
-
Clear liquid interface visibility
-
Stable transparency without yellowing.
Applications
Quartz glass tubes are widely used in:
-
Tube-style liquid level sight glass
-
Tubular level gauge assemblies
-
Boiler water level indicators
-
Chemical processing equipment
-
Pharmaceutical reactors
-
Power generation and steam systems
-
Oil & gas auxiliary equipment
They work well where borosilicate glass tubes break from temperature shock or chemical damage.

Pressure Reference (Typical Industrial Use)
While the final pressure rating depends on installation and protection design:
-
Low-pressure systems: ≤ 1.0 MPa
-
Medium-pressure systems (with protective housing): ≤ 2.5 MPa
-
Higher pressures require metal protection covers or reflex/plate-type gauges.
We assist customers in engineering selection to ensure safe operation.
